Ash Cloud Forces France to Close Air Space

by Harry on April 15, 2010

A few minutes ago, a press release from French aviation authorities announced that the two major airports in France, Paris’s Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly, and 23 smaller airports across northern France, will be closed by 11 p.m. at latest because of the ash cloud reaching French air space.

Air France added that regarding the rest of April 16, measures will be taken depending on the situation, even though traffic will be very disrupted. The company also booked 1,400 hotel rooms for passengers in transit in Paris whose flights had been cancelled.
